Julia Pesavento

Julia Pesavento was born 1997 in Toronto (Canada) and received her first cello lessons in the Music School of Schmalkalden with Susanne Bleck. Later she attended the Public High School for Music “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden, receiving lessons from Prof. Gunda Altmann and Prof. Emil Rovner.

In 2013 she received the 2nd prize in the nationwide Carl Schroeder competition. She attended master classes with Prof. Tim Stolzenburg, Christian Wilm Müller, Prof. Joseph Schwab, Sabine Krams, Prof. Susanne Müller-Hornbach and received chamber music lessons from Kerstin Dill, Judson Perry, Prof. Albrecht Winter and Alexander Puliaev.

Since the end of 2018 she has been studying cello in the class of Prof. Susanne Müller-Hornbach at the Cologne University of Music and Dance in Wuppertal.

Julia has already worked in numerous ensembles such as the Young Symphony Orchestra Dresden under the direction of Wolfgang Behrend, the University Orchestra of the University of Music and Dance in Cologne/Wuppertal under the direction of Hildegard Schön as well as some baroque ensembles.

Various projects in Germany and abroad have taken her among others to the Semperoper and the Kreuzkirche in Dresden, the Berlin Cathedral, the old Frankfurt Opera, the radio studio of the German public broadcaster WDR in Wuppertal as well as to countries like France, Thailand and Italy.
